Once upon a time there was a great gig on a Tuesday night. It was called The Chickenhead Lounge and brought together Howlin’ Matt, the Bo’Weevil Brothers and, of course, Slim Jim Blues.
We played some songs by RL Burnside, John Lee Hooker, Reverend Edward W Clayborn, Skip James and Bo Diddley as well as some reworked traditional songs and a few of our own. We did indeed let our snakes ride on this midweek night.
Thankfully we managed to capture a few of our tracks on video, so they can be enjoyed by people foolish enough to miss the Chickenhead Lounge.
