Slim Jim Blues is primarily an electric band. We take early blues music and rewire it through amps and drums to create something new. It comes straight from the blues but with a century of electrification to super-charge it and give it a new twist. This is not blues rock, but rather what would have happened if Robert Johnson and Son House had had access to a Gibson SG. That is what you are normally going to hear from us.
But last week we put the amps down and played acoustic blues as simply as we know how. This was part of the Big Difference’s acoustic night and we wanted to see what we could offer.
So we came, we strummed, we sang and we blew. And the people liked it. They clapped and sung along. And so, maybe… just maybe… we may play acoustic again in the future. Who knows?
